Leasing Life - 23 April

Independent IT finance provider Syscap has added five new members to its team, three of which have come from Genesis Capital.

Jon Souch, David Johns and Richard Corry were previously at Genesis Capital, the troubled financier, whose operations director, Elaine Levitton, last month told Leasing Life that it was suffering from its funders withdrawing from the market.

Syscap has also hired Cheryl Weeks and Phillip Holloway, who, alongside Johns and Corry, have been appointed as account managers for Syscap’s key vertical markets.

"Despite the obvious difficulties of the current economic climate, Syscap is maintaining an excellent service to its IT vendor partners," said Souch, who joined as team leader for Syscap’s key vendor programmes.

"Innovative sales initiatives, such as the increasingly popular Option One, offer a compelling proposition to the marketplace, enabling Syscap to stay ahead."

These appointments are in addition to Syscap welcoming Phil Ross - formerly of Investec Asset Finance - as its new chief operating officer last month.

Syscap has also had its fair share of staff losses recently, including Sean Reed, the financier’s former COO; plus Ian Irving and Kevin Flowerday, who both left Syscap to join ECS, Société Générale’s tech finance subsidiary.
